Here is an actual email I just recieved:
Good news. We have just received clearance form the ANU's fire safety officer to go ahead with the barbeque as the barbeque is electric (no flame) and it is in an enclosed area. So, sausages are back on the menu. See you there.
There was fear of not being able to have sausages. Thank goodness they worked that out, because no sausages clearly equals DISASTER.

This is irrelevant but reminds me of the 5 weeks of panic we had in Khon Kaen. Behind our offices is a couple that runs the fruit stand. Things were going so well, farang were happy, Thais were happy and what we thought, the couple was happy...until they up n' left us! We searched the stand for any note, any evidence at all. Everyday we checked 5 times a day (coming to realize we depend on them way too much). Fortunately she came back and we cherish them to beyond belief. I guess I know where those Aussies are coming from...it's dreadful to lose your favorite treat!
